Phew made the deadline! I just finished a new Zooniverse animation for Loop De Loop based on the theme of "Rock".

To see all of my animations:

Thanks to Helen Maier for the music that I used in this loop, to see her entry:

These animations are all really interesting and very enjoyable to watch. The Zooniverse in general is really intriguing, I'd definitely buy any books or other media of it. :)

Glad to hear it, I've found an Australian publisher! We're working on a small black and white as our first venture to test the water at a local comic convention. We've agreed to publish a large hard cover book towards the end of next year. I'll post more about it later, but everything we do will be available on eBay.

I'm so glad you think so, it's hard to tell if they are working being so close to them. But it's all about practice, so I hope to improve them in After Effects as the next step. :)

Your character designs are superb as always, questions for you though, have you ever released an artbook? I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I've been hunting around for a publisher for my comics over the last year and haven't received any interest. Maybe I should consider self publishing, say through Blurb. Might be worth looking in to.

You havent found anyone interested...that's just sad, I would have hunted for your stuff. But if you do decide to do self publishing, I'll happily buy!

I'm interested to know what kind of things you might like to see if I put an art book together.

Honestly...concept art, finished pieces, your design work has always been inspiring, and seeing more of your comic style artwork really reminds me of the early days of Heavy Metal and a lot of the french graphic novels I grew up with.

So...concept art, more original art would be grand.

Okay I'll start looking into something. I'll check back with you once I have an idea of how to proceed.

Did you know about the Zooniverse blog, it might have some examples of what you are talking about....

Yeah, your blog got me really excited once I saw more of your artwork...I felt like I had stumbled on some treasure trove of old Heavy Metal art I'd never seen before.

I got some serious Moebius and Loisel vibes from the art.

Oh great that gives me a better idea of what to aim for. I'm thinking of putting together a small reasonably priced book probably based solely on Zooniverse for now. I'm looking at Blurb first.

Wow, I had no idea you were one of the guys if not the guy from the Zooniverse comics.

I read those books years ago when they came out from Eclipse. I loved them and still have them in my collection. I even did a retro review of them on one of my podcasts.

Did you guys ever produce more comics?

The animations were great by the way.

Best.

I'm THE guy from Zooniverse, I did it all and I'm very glad that you loved them and have now been able to see the animations.

Unfortunately Eclipse and Minotaur fell out with each other, and the independent comic market died for a decade or so. I only wanted to do my own comics, but I fell into the Animation Industry instead.

As far as other published Zooniverse here is a link to my Zooniverse blog [link]

which should get you caught up :)

Thanks.

I'm happy to see you're still at it, and I know how you feel about only wanting to do your stuff.

Keep us posted on new Zoon stuff as you come out with it :)

Best.

*POP* And there it is.

Haha, very smooth! :D I especially enjoy the subtle waving of the little core being's hair. Also, that pirateer's design is just awesome. :XD: Love the way his moustache and chin(s) move. :XD:

Also, Helen's cracks me up. Who the heck is that creeper purple guy she keeps using?? :XD:

Thank you for taking a look, it's always a joy to read what you get out of my work! :)

I had to cut back a lot from what I had planned to do, so everything is more abrupt than I would like, so the "pop" has no build up, but it's funny so it works for now. There's so much more I want to do with the core being, but for now I'm building up assets, it exists as art, which is the main objective.

Helen's was fun, the purple guy is her main character which she is also building up assets for something bigger. You'll be seeing more of him.

We are using the loops to practice animation and build up our skills. Also to see what people think. We are very grateful for any feedback!! Thank you!

It is always my pleasure. I love your animations! :D

Haha, so that's where the "pop" came from! But that's one of the great thing about art---seeing what you can get away with when time becomes short. And yes, it totally works. :XD:

Helen's purple guy has a great design too. Oh my gash, the crazy, intense look on his face just gives him such great character.

Always looking forward to further exploring the milieus you two are building! :D
