XGB: MainTitle: GhostTrain Flyers by filbarlow XGB: MainTitle: GhostTrain Flyers by filbarlow
These are the ghosts that I designed to fly around the spook train in the Extreme Ghostbusters intro back in 1997. I had a bit of fun with these flyers. Helen Maier from my Character Design Department helped me ink some of the designs above.

Kris Sherwood from the Timing and Checking Department asked me to supply some additional sketches to explain the movement of the tentacle ghoul (the pink one at the bottom). My sketches were added to the dope sheet, I was so happy with the end result that I kept a copy. Kris would often ask us for insight into how we imagined the movement of our creatures. I wish that Sony had encouraged more inter-departmental collaboration. Nevertheless Kris, Helen and I became fast friends.

Some of the most fun is looking at the small flyers in this serious. Much of the spirit of the other series Real Ghostbusters. I am wondering if you had a hand in the designs for the flyers in "Darkness at Noon Part 2" (The end of the episode when ghosts escape the subway). Also in "The Pied Piper of Manhattan" there are all these ghosts from Intro and Darkness at Noon part 2 and then even more. Sorry to be such a bugger, Love what has been posted, and thanks for creating the show.

Cool. Always had a soft spot for 'Lizard' his design stood out - he's a real gooper. Again thanks for continuing to post Extreme Ghostbusters art and stories about production, they're priceless!

Most impressive.  I particularly liked the 4 eyed purple skull one in back.  Now did some of these guys end up as Piper's minions in the pied piper episode?

I looked in the folder for Pied Piper which had the Production number of #110 (Episode 10), the only reuse that I found was "Boney". It looks like we produced a lot of new floating ghosts for that show.

It's possible, I'd have to watch the entire episode to be sure.
