Here is the head of the Transport bug. The modelers at Foundation Imaging did an amazing job bringing this detail design to life.

Markers on a photocopy, I ran out of time and never added pencil to this art.

This is fascinating and truly alien. I can't tell which parts, if any, are the eyes. It reminds me of some of Wayne Barlowe's creatures. You aren't related, by chance?

No no I've never met the man. His guide to extraterrestrials came out while I was still a teenager, I promptly set about "fixing" the anatomy some of his creatures, haha.

Love the transport bug, just thinking about the concept, genetically engineering/breeding a subspecies capable of interstellar flight. like it better than the "Launch their spores into space" explanation of colonization.

That's because I looked at nature, where the best bug designs are. Everyone else is copying each other.
