In our version all of the Spectobes would turn mutant under certain conditions. Just thought you might like to see what could have been.

I had fun designing these, Helen Maier helped me with the colors.

I personally see these as an evolution from my work on Godzilla, I didn't have anyone dictating how these creatures should look. They are very pure designs done in a deliberately simpler style.

Correct, I always create an individually unique style for every show that I've ever designed, and every comic concept that I've created. Plus I evolve and refine as part of the process of being an artist.

Well that's very good. That means you like to spread your skills in different styles so here's a few pointers for spectrobes. Spectrobes arent like on how godzilla is so grossly detailed with disgusting features. Spectrobes are very simple and at times usually have parts of their body are kind of boxy, like zen and komanoto

Hello again. I am curious...What exactly is different in their mutated forms besides looks? Also did you ever name the individual Spectrobes? If socould you tell us what the names were?

They had different abilities, and different ways of fighting as they became more powerful. We really wanted silly attacks so that if you chose to fight it would be hilarious.

We had names for each species. Purple was Felin, Violet was Burlax, Gern for green, I'd have to dig around for the rest of the names.

Thank you for sharing this info, and i would like to know all the types' names but take your time.

I know Disney's Release gave the Spectrobes elemental abilities such as fire or water manipulation, aside from environmental adaptation, did the Spectrobes have anything like that in your original concept?

Yeah I'll have to dig through folders to find the other names.

We weren't big on fighting games, but seeing as Disney wanted to feature fighting we put some thought into coming up with attacks that would be almost ridiculous and always funny. They were based on the physical attributes of the Spectrobe along with the element they were suited to. For example the Felin has fur and could distract it's opponent with "Flea Fling". They miss a turn while itching the fleas off.

Red/magenta = lava, magma, volcanic
Orange = rock, dirt, caves, subterranean

These are totally amazing, much better than the designs they currently feature. I definitely don't hate all of their designs, but I'd probably still be playing if I had these bad boys at my command.

We wanted our version to have 2 ways of playing, Rallan's was combat ordering the Spectrobes about and Jeena's was co-operative where she mind linked and could solve puzzles as the creatures, her Spectrobes, being more peaceful had an entirely different appearance.
