I've put together this design flowchart of the Flasher Ghost character from the Main Title of the animated TV show, Extreme Ghostbusters. I just thought you might find it interesting to see the process.

I often helped Executive Producer Richard Raynis with the main titles when the storyboard artists just weren't capturing the look and feel that he was after.

The original concept drawing on the top left was created by Character Designer Everett Peck for the Real Ghostbusters TV show, a decade earlier and Richard wanted to reuse it. So I designed a new version in the style of the show on the right, (A) and (B).

On the left are the notes that Richard faxed me that he drew to give me an idea of how to make the second image more dramatic, so I came up with the bottom right (C).

Richard is an amazing artist in his own right. So he would be embarrassed to discover that I have revealed his above sketch to the world. However I think it's an important part of the collaborative process that needs to be acknowledged.

Edit: :iconhelenmaier: Helen Maier was my inker through most of the Sony shows. I would do the small details like eyes, she would do the rest. Most of the production art are collaborations between us.

Whoa, awesome. Always love seeing your Ghostbusters stuff and reading the background story on the design. Sucks to hear IDW ignored you, have they no idea who you are?

Honestly I have no idea, both Tristan and Dan who are regular IDW contributors ... :icondapperdanschoening: :icontristjones: have been kind enough to try to get me involved. I just don't think the timing is right, I need to focus on my own projects for my own sanity at the moment. I feel like I'm following a trail of breadcrumbs at the moment it will probably make sense one day, but for now I'll take life one crumb at a time. O.o;

Yeah, you'd think having someone whos been a part of the Ghostbusters franchise work on the comic would be a big plus, but who knows how those bigshot editors think...

Probably too much stuff on his plate. I've moved on from the franchise now, so it's no skin off my nose. :)

Brilliant, Fil! Have you considered approaching IDW for work on the Ghostbuster comic? Though I imagine you've got lots of other stuff on.

I actually have, twice, but the Editor never replied. So I'm focusing on Image at the moment.

Yeah. I hear that. I've tried both IDW and Boom without any joy so far. But all the best with Image. It's a tough gig this comic thing. BTW I had a peek at your contribution to 'Clubhouse' the other day. Very cool!

My emails are probably in the Editor's spam folder. I'm sure they get a lot of unsolicited stuff. I know a few artists who work there, but.. meh. It's made me more determined to focus on my own comics, Rex Vectar included, I'm glad you got to see it all dusted up and recolored. Will you be contributing to Clubhouse? I hope so!

Yeah. I dug out a two pager for Clubhouse. It's not anything to write home about but it's all right :)
